What words would I use to describe Home Study Mtg #2?

Fun. Laughter. Enjoyable. Self-reflecting. Encouraging. Educational.

Mtg #2 was great! We laughed and laughed, as we broke down our marriage, parenting and communication. It's pretty funny to stand back and analyze yourselves in these way!!!

Topics of focus: Our marriage, spousal communication, the kids, and and our parenting styles.

My biggest take away from our time together = in 10+ years together, we have had a significant amount of growth. As we verbally talked through the above topics, it was clear that we have had a lot growth in our marriage, our understanding of one another, and in our parenting. We have grown in our expectations of life and how it flows. We have grown in our understanding that things are not always how you anticipate that they will be - really, they are rarely how you anticipate that they will be. And in this growth, we had found

goodness. Verbally analyzing ourselves helped us gain an understanding how far we have come, and that makes me really excited for the additional growth we will experience as a family in the years ahead!

Finally, we had some great discussions about the challenges we will face as a trans-racial family. Being from a trans-racial family herself, our case manager offered some great feedback and perspective for our life ahead. No, it certainly will not be easy, but that does not change God's desires for our family. Because God's ways are not easy - He does not travel the path of constant comfort and ease. He is a God that reaches beyo

nd, working through challenges, and defying odds. He is a God that teaches us through a faith that surpasses practicality.
